Eltisley
Eltisley is a beautiful village just off the A428 between Cambridge and St Neots...
Roger's Ramblings
July 2008
Well, so much for flaming June, most of it’s been flaming awful lurching from wet to dry and hot to cold – at one stage the Green was waterlogged and parts were actually bailed out by the Cricket Club! But the mowing contractor has coped and the Green looks as good as ever. It’s great to see so much cricket being played and so many youngsters using the new practice nets.
It’s also good to see families enjoying meeting at the Cade Hall early on Saturday evenings, and the Cade’s looking better all the time. Well done to all involved.
The Parish Council, with the support of the Parish Plan Steering Group is steadily working through the sections of the plan in order of priorities, and some of the concerns raised in the questionnaire have been addressed as follows:- The Authorities have agreed to a right turn ban from the A428 east bound into the village and have applied for funding. More Litter and Dog Waste bins have been sited throughout the village. We have a good relationship with the PCSO’s and volunteers have come forward for Neighbourhood Watch, although more are welcome. The need for affordable homes is being investigated along with the ongoing problem of the deterioration of the Institute. Efforts are ongoing to hopefully improve bus services to the Village and a website is up and running with Council information and Minutes of meetings available to all.
Thanks to Jerry Course, we now have a re-furbished Parish Council Notice Board and a new Notice Board for Village Notices. Anyone wishing to put up a notice please contact me on 880122 or Mike Cropley on 880358 for the key.
Hope to see you all at the next Parish Council meeting at Newton School, Tuesday 8th July.
